I am honored to be helping Timex launch @timexexpedition by sharing some images to their account this week. When I was asked to participate in this project I was quickly reminded of last summer when I thru-hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. @Timex was really great to me on that hike and it was the only watch I used the whole way to help keep track of time, and distance that I hiked each day. When you have that much time on your hands, you quickly realize the importance of a good reliable watch. This time around since I didn’t have the whole west coast to work with, I set out to explore the canyons and forests of southern Illinois, better know to some as “Garden of The Gods.” What a wonderful place Shawnee National Forest was, I would almost go as far as saying it’s actually pretty magical. With plenty of canyons and rocks to climb on, we set our alarms for sunrise, in hopes of catching the first light of the day. I’d say time was on our side in this case.
