The Teacher, The Doctor, and The Mother. In this life of illusion, the true heroes live amongst us.

The Teacher, The Doctor, and The Mother. In this life of illusion, the true heroes live amongst us. Winter had set in and was showing no signs of letting up anytime soon. The days were short and the skies were grey. One random Saturday we got a dose of sunshine on a bitterly cold day, so I tried to take advantage of the little light we get and headed for Milwaukee. I had seen so many photos of the Milwaukee Art Museum, and it was my primary objective as I sped towards the city trying to not only chase the light, but also get there before they closed.

I arrived 10 mins till closing, and ran inside as fast as I could. Once I got in I tried to pay for entry and was denied. “Sir, I am sorry but the museum is closing in 10 minutes” I explained that was exactly enough time for me to try and get the photos I had come for. After some convincing, he finally allowed me to come in for the final 10 minutes of the day for free! I quickly ran to were the light was breaking apart through the amazing architectural structure, and saw three people hanging out observing the stunning building that surrounded us. I asked if they would mind standing in a shot for me in exchange for a print, and after some strange looks they agreed to take part. I took three shots and got this one, just as they were starting to tell us all to leave.

I included this in my year end, because it taught me a lot about impromptu opportunities and how to make the best of the time and things you have in front of you. It won’t always go the way you expect, but I guess that’s what this whole photography game is all about. (3/5)
