Lava fields in the rain. Just reached mile 2,007, and relaxing in Bend, Oregon for the night after 4 days of hiking in the pouring rain. If the rain wasn’t bad enough, the trail has started to introduce the treacherous to walk on, but amazing to see, lava fields of Oregon.
As you walked through these broken chucks of magma that poured from what once was an active and raging volcano, you can’t help but to imagine what it must of been like to see all of this in action as it was formed. Molten magma slowly pouring down the sides of volcanoes that were carved by glaciers in some of our planet’s earliest days.
It would of been truly amazing to see. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to settle on attending The “Bend Brewfest” tonight instead. ;] 656 miles to go!
Love it
