Colab with Ryan Putnam

When I was thru-hiking the PCT this year, I started waking up earlier and earlier in Washington, in order to get more miles into my day. With the help of my buddy BallHAWK, I found myself up and hiking no later than 5am. In the mornings the fog would be so dense and tinted with a purple hue. It seemed the earlier you got up the more dense and purple it would be. Most mornings my imagination would wonder off, and create all kinds of scenarios of all the things that could be amongst the mist.

With that said it has been so cool to see those thoughts come to life with the help of Ryan Putnam (@ryanputnam ) I came across Ryan’s work after my hike was all over and done with, and was so intrigued by how he would combine his awesome illustrations with his photography and create such a unique and humorous story out of it. I was lucky enough to have Ryan work with me on one of my photos from those dense foggy mornings on the trail.

Be sure to head over to Ryan’s feed @ryanputnam and check out the rest of his work!
