Wild. Around mile 1,606 of my Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike last year, I made my way through Etna, California and dodged a bunch of wild fires that we’re going on all around the area. Eventually I walked through the “Russian Wilderness” and was not disappointed. I heard the whole way up that Northern California was suppose to be pretty boring, but by this time I was convinced that you just can’t always believe everything you hear. at this time I felt like I was becoming a true thru-hiker and I was truly starting to feel like I was a part of something special that would result in a life changing experience, as well as an overall adjustment to the way I look at the living, thriving, active world. I had transformed and had become an entirely new person. I had a lot to learn about this new person and perspective, and what it meant to my life, and where it would take me. One thing I knew for sure is that whoever I was before the hike I had no interest in returning to the life he was living. This is “Teddy Rose”. One of the coolest, nicest, and most impactful people I met on my hike. She truly showed me what it is to live in the moment, and I can’t thank her and the others I met on my hike enough for providing me memories for a lifetime.
